Woods Scores Game-Winner in Double Overtime

WAVERLY, Iowa-- Freshman Taylor Woods (Waukee) scored not only her second collegiate goal in the double overtime win over UW-LaCrosse, but this was her second career game-winning goal.

With the win, the Knights moved to 2-2-1 on the year and the Eagles dropped to 1-3-0.

Woods scored the game-winner at with just under seven minutes to play in the second overtime session.

The game was scoreless through halftime.

UW-LaCrosse was the first team on the board as Jamie Ochsenwald scored at 76:10

Sophomore Lisa Trizzino (Bettendorf) netted her first goal of the year at 81:16 as she launched a shot to the upper left corner that fell in over a leaping Eagle keeper.

The Orange and Black held the advantage in shots (12-7) in the second half and the narrow advantage in shots (3-2) in the first extra session, but neither team was able to score.

Wartburg takes to the road this weekend to face UW-Whitewater Saturday and UW-Oshkosh Sunday.
