WAVERLY, Iowa—The No. 15 Wartburg volleyball team (3-5 overall) will compete in UW-OshKosh's Pizza Hut Classic this weekend.
The Knights concluded last weekend's competition at the Augsburg Invite falling 3-2 to defending National Champion and No. 2 ranked- St. Thomas and 3-0 to host- Augsburg.
The Orange and Black will face Ripon College at 5:30 p.m. and No. 25 UW-Stevens Point at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Wartburg will continue Saturday against St. Norbert College at 10 a.m. and North Central College at 12 p.m.
A Look at the Teams:
Ripon College (7-4):
Sophomore Emily Gary leads the team with 277 kills and 87 total blocks, service aces (25) and solo blocks (23).
Senior Karlye Wehner ranks second on the team with 244 kills and third with 266 digs.
No. 25 UW- Stevens Point (5-3)
Krista Loos leads the Pointers with 85 kills while Allison Davis and Emma Brunkhorst follow with 78.
Alex Hartman has 274 set assists and Hannah Picel has 107 digs.
St. Norbert College (3-7)
Junior Breanne Brocker leads the team with 309 kills and 109 digs with senior Katie Stewart follows with 90 digs.
North Central College (3-4)
Junior Kedryn Orrison leads the team an attack percentage of .372 and 261 kills.
Sophomore Laura Kluck has 113 kills.
Wartburg:
Three seniors lead the team in triple digit kills including Maddie Forsyth (Charles City) with 327 and Kelly Niemann (Fredricksburg) and Ramey Sieck (Fayette) following with 299 and 264, respectively.
Ramey Sieck was awarded IIAC defensive player of the week last week with her added stats including a career 268 assists and 367 digs.
