CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa-- The Wartburg women's soccer team (4-5-1 overall, 1-0-0 IIAC) opened the Iowa Conference portion of its schedule with a 3-1 win over Coe (3-5-1, 0-1-0) Saturday.

The Kohawks were the first team on the scoreboard as Kelsey Fauser scored at 41:51.

In the second half, it was all Wartburg to solidify the comeback win.

Freshman Abby Zimmerman (Bettendorf) netted her first collegiate goal at 55:27 to even the score. Sophomore Hannah Turner (West Des Moines) had the assist.

Sophomore Brittany Frush connected on a pass from her older sister Ashley at 67:44 to give the Knights the 2-1 lead.
Junior Ashley Kerns (Ames) scored her first goal of the season at 81:34. Junior Brinkly Werkman (Marion) was credited with the assist.

Freshman Sophie Perez (Cedar Falls) was credited for the win in net.

The Orange and Black return to action Wednesday when they travel to face Buena Vista at 5 p.m.
