#15 Volleyball Finishes 1-1 Friday

MINNEAPOLIS-- The No. 15 Wartburg volleyball team (3-3 overall) went 1-1 in the first day of Augsburg's tournament.

The Knights fell in five sets to UW-LaCrosse but swept Gustavus Adolphus in the night cap.

Against the Eagles, three players had double-digit kills and were led by 12 from junior Bailey Wilson (West Des Moines).

Seniors Kelly Niemann (Fredricksburg) and Ramey Sieck (Fayette) had 10 on the match.

UWL won the first two sets, 25-16, 25-18 before the Orange and Black claimed the next two, 25-16, 25-16, to force the fifth set.

The deciding set was tied ato 8-8 but the Eagles went on a four-point run which Wartburg was unable to answer.

Against Gustavus, Wilson again led the team with 11 kills.

The Knights won in straight sets and outblocked the Gusties, 9-3.

The Orange and Black concludes the tournament tomorrow and will face defending National Champions St. Thomas and host-Augsburg.
