NAPERVILLE, Ill.-- The Wartburg volleyball team (18-7 overall) finished 1-1 Saturday at North Central's Tournament. Senior Bailey Wilson (West Des Moines) was named to the All-Tournament team. She has earned this honor at all tournaments the Knights have competed in to date.
The Knights swept host-North Central (
25-17,25-13,25-14) and were led by nine kills from Wilson and junior Kayln Ertz (Mediapolis). Classmate Emma Harmeyer (West Des Moines) recorded 25 set assists and also added four service aces.
Sophomore Claire Willenbring (Dyersville) also had four service aces on the match to make a 39 on the season.
As a team, Wartburg limited North Central to a .061 hitting percentage and held the team advantages in service aces (11-6), kills (34-28), hitting percentage (.372 vs. .061) and blocks (9-1)
Against Saint Mary's the Orange and Black fell in straight sets (
25-22,25-19,25-23).
Willenbring had a team-best eight kills while Wilson and junior Krystal Graves () followed with seven each. Willenbring once again had a team-best four service aces to bring her season total to 43.
Junior Jamie Farley (Cedar Falls) had a team-best 14 digs.
As a team, Wartburg held the advantage in blocks (5 vs 4.5).
The Knights return to action Tuesday when they host Dubuque at 7:30 p.m.
