No. 6 Knights Host Spartans in Homecoming Game

WAVERLY, Iowa-- Sixth-ranked Wartburg (5-0 overall, 2-0 IIAC) hosts Dubuque (2-3, 1-1) Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the annual Homecoming game.

The Series
Wartburg holds the all-time series lead at 43-15 and has claimed the last seven meetings.

Last Time Out
Dubuque
The University of Dubuque defeated Simpson College 44-10 last Saturday. The Spartans scored two touchdowns in every quarter but the third. 

UD finished with 482 yards of offense and scored on four of five chances in the red zone. The Spartans were led by quarterback Zach Fry, who finished the night 23-37 for 278 yards and four touchdowns. On the ground UD's Alec Arvanitakis carried the ball 17 times for 97 yards, while Milton Greer gained 45 yards on 10 carries and scored a touchdown. 

Chris Bagley caught seven passes for 111 yards and a touchdown, and Tyler Rutenbeck grabbed eight passes for 92 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Then-No. 7 Wartburg moved to 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in Iowa Conference play with its 43-0 win over Coe last Saturday.

This marked the second-largest margin of victory for the Knights in the series (The biggest came in a 48-0 win in 1999). This also marked the first shutout for the Orange and Black since the 73-0 season opener against MacMurray in 2012.

Junior Logan Schrader (Killdeer, Illinois) finished 18-26 with 259 passing yards, three touchdown passes, and an interception. Senior Taylor Jacobsmeier (Wapello) had six catches for 96 yards and two touchdowns.

Junior Brandon Domeyer (Manchester) led the team on the ground with 83 yards and one touchdown.

Junior Gunner Tranel (Vinton) led the defense with 12 total tackles (eight solo and four assists).

As a team, Wartburg registered six sacks for a loss of 45 yards.

Career Leader List Watch:
Domeyer is tied for 10th on the program's all-time career leader list in rushing TDs (21).

Schrader is sixth with his 4,636 passing yards and 343 passing completions and seventh with 37 passing TDs .

Senior Donald Miller (Maywood, Ill.) is tied for ninth with 12 pass reception TDs. Bohlke is seventh with 64 PATs made and tied for sixth with 13 field goals.

Senior Spencer Capitani (Northwood) ranks tenth in punt returns (46) and is tied for sixth in pass breakups (21).
