No. 8 Football Travels to Central

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 8 Wartburg football team (3-0 overall) travels to Pella to face Central (2-1) Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Iowa Conference opener.

The Series
Central holds the all-time series lead at 37-21, but the Knights won last year's meeting. The two programs have won or shared a combined 13 conference titles since 1998.

A Look at the Teams
Central

Josh Osborn leads the ground attack with 330 yards and four touchdowns. Signalcaller Noah Stochl has thrown for 174 yards and two touchdowns. Brendon Boerm leads the receives with 105 yards and seven catches and one touchdown.

Jessie Peterson leads the defense with 23 total tackles (ten solo and 13 assists).

As a team, the Dutch are averaging 39 points per game while holding their opponents to 15.7.

Wartburg
Junior Brandon Domeyer (Manchester) is the team's leading rusher with 228 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Logan Schrader (Killdeer, Ill.) has thrown for 911 yards and eight touchdowns and has also added 115 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

Senior Taylor Jacobsmeier (Wapello) leads all receivers with 380 yards on 20 receptions and three touchdowns. Junior Robbie Anstoetter (Farley) also has three touchdown catches.

Junior linebacker Gunner Tranel (Vinton) leads the defense with 27 tackles (21 solo and six assists), which includes a team-best 6.0 tackles for a loss of 21 yards.
