Buena VistaThe Beavers had a thrilling 44-39 win over Dubuque last Saturday as they scored the go-ahead score with 35 seconds left in the game.
It was the third straight game that has come down to the final possession of the game and the second in which BVU scored with under a minute to play to take the lead and win.
Ben Seitz posted a team-leading nine catches for 109 yards and a TD.
WartburgThe Knights defeated Luther, 52-7, last Saturday. This was the second-highest point total in the series history, as the most was 56 points in Wartburg's 56-28 win in 1992.
The Knights totaled 408 yards of offense to propel them to the victory.
The Orange and Black's defense held the Norse to 193 yards on the ground and zero yards through the air. This marked the fifth time in school history that Wartburg allowed zero passing yards as this previously occurred against Iowa Weselyan (1956), Buena Vista (1953), Luther (1965) and Lea (1969).
Freshman Brandon Richardson (Rock Island, Ill.) had a team-high 38 yards on the ground and was closely followed by 34 from junior Brandon Domeyer (Manchester).
Classmate Logan Schrader (Killdeer, Ill.) finished 15-21-0 for 252 yards and two touchdowns.
Senior Taylor Jacobsmeier (Wapello) led all receivers with 106 yards.
Junior Gunner Tranel (Vinton) led the defense with 12 total tackles (eight solo, four assists).
