No. 8 Wartburg Defeats Central, 35-14

PELLA, Iowa-- Wartburg moved to 4-0 on the season and 1-0 in Iowa Conference play as it defeated Central (2-2, 0-1) 35-14 Saturday.

Entering Saturday's game, the Dutch had only surrended an average of 15.7 points per game. As a team, the Knights held the advantages in rushing (208 -206) and passing yards (218-141).

Junior Brandon Domeyer (Manchester) led the team on the ground with 96 yards and two touchdowns. Classmate Logan Schrader (Killdeer, Ill.) finsihed 11-16 and threw for 218 yards which included three touchdowns. He had a long pass of 57-yards to senior Taylor Jacobsmeier (Wapello).

Junior Robbie Anstoetter (Farley) led all receivers with his four catches for 68 yards and two touchdowns. He reception and touchdown total tied his career mark.

Junior Gunner Tranel (Vinton) led the defense with 19 total tackles (four solo, 15 assists), to set new career-bests in total and solo tackles. Senior Drew Kooi (Minooka, Ill.) had a team-high two tackles for a loss of three yards.

The Orange and Black return to action next Saturday on the road against Coe at 1 p.m.
