Volleyball Finishes 1-1 at own Wartburg Quad

WAVERLY, Iowa-- Wartburg (17-4 overall) finished 1-1 Saturday at its own Wartburg Quad as it swept St. Olaf 3-0 (25-16,25-17,25-14) but fell 3-2 (19-25,25-17,25-19,23-25,15-12) to No. 24 Augsburg.

The Knights held the Oles to a .010 hitting percentage, had eight service aces and outblocked them (6-4). Senior Bailey Wilson (West Des Moines) had a team-best nine kills while junior Krystal Graves (Cedar Falls) followed with eight.

Classmate Emma Harmeyer (West Des Moines) had 15 assists while freshman Maria Brown (Peosta) had 13 as they split time running the Orange and Black's offense.

Against the Auggies, Wilson had a team-best 18 kills (just one shy of her career high) while sophomore Claire Willenbring (Dyersville) joined her in double digits with 11. Wilson tied her career mark with three service aces in the match.

This time, Brown had 30 assists while Harmeyer had 25. Brown's total marked a new career best. Junior Jamie Farley (Cedar Falls) had 24 digs while senior Karly Bown (Lincoln, Neb.) had 14.

The Knights held the team advantage in blocks (7-3).

The Orange and Black return to action Wednesday as they travel to face Coe at 7 p.m.
