INDIANOLA, Iowa-- Wartburg (11-2 overall, 1-0 IIAC) opened the Iowa Conference portion of its schedule with a 3-1 win (25-13, 13-25, 25-8, 25-18) over Simpson (5-6, 0-1) Wednesday night.

Senior Bailey Wilson (West Des Moines) and sophomore Claire Willenbring (Dyersville) led the Knights in double digit kills with 13 and 12, respectively.

Freshman Maria Brown (Peosta) had a career-high 19 sets and junior Emma Harmeyer (West Des Moines) had 17 as they ran the team's offense.

Brown also had a career best four service aces and set a new mark in digs with 10.

As a team, the Orange and Black held the Storm to an 8.5 % team hitting percentage. Wartburg also held the team advantage in blocks (10-2) and service aces (7-3).

The Knights return to the court Tuesday in their home opener against Loras at 7:30 p.m.
