No. 9 Wartburg Defeats UW-Stouts 45-14

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 9 Wartburg football team moved to 3-0 overall with its 45-14 win over UW-Stout (1-2) Saturday. The Knights also remained undefeated (9-0) in home night games in the Walston-Hoover Stadium era, since 2001.

Junior Logan Schrader (Killdeer, Ill.) tied the single-game school record with five touchdown passes. This mark was set by Matt Wheeler against Buena Vista in 1998, Simpson in 1999 and Buena Vista in 1999. Danny Stiefel later tied it in 2010 against Dubuque.

Schrader now ranks eighth on the program's all-time career leader list with 31 touchdown passes and in passing yards (4,159). Senior Spencer Capitani (Northwood) is now seventh in pass break ups (20).

Junior Brandon Domeyer (Manchester) led the team on the ground with 137 yards. Schrader finished 15-27 with 308 yards and five TDs.

Senior Taylor Jacobsmeier (Wapello) was the team's leading receiver as he had seven catches for a career-best 163 yards.

Junior Gunner Tranel (Vinton) had a career-high 17 total tackles to lead the defense.

The Knights are off next week before opening Iowa Conference play on the road at Central on Oct. 4.
