Box ScoreWAVERLY, Iowa-- Senior Bailey Wilson (West Des Moines) and sophomore Claire Willenbring (Dyersville) recorded double-digit kills in Wartburg's 3-1 win over Loras in its home opener Tuesday night.
The Knights dropped the first set, 25-14 before taking the next three straight: 25-16, 25-21 and 25-17.
Junior Emma Harmeyer (West Des Moines) had 40 set assists, just eight shy of her career mark, on the night. Three players, Willenbring, senior Karly Bown (Lincoln, Neb.) and junior Jamey Farley (Cedar Falls) each had 10 digs.
Farley also had a team-best three service aces while Harmeyer and Bown had two.
As a team, the Orange and Black held the Duhawks to a .155 team hitting percentage, which inlcluded a -.069 in the second set alone. Wartburg also outblocked Loras 7.0-5.0.
The Knights return to the court Friday at the IIAC/NACC Crossover Challenge in Dubuque.
