Volleyball Travels to Dubuque for IIAC-NACC Challenge

The Wartburg volleyball team (12-2 overall) travels to Dubuque this weekend to compete in the IIAC-NACC Challenge.

On Friday the Knights will face Edgewood College (6-8) at 3 p.m. and Dominican University (9-6) at 7 p.m.

On Saturday they will face Benedictine University (3-11) at 11 a.m. and Lakeland College (8-7) at 3 p.m.

A Look at the Teams

Wartburg

The Knights are currently on a two-game winning streak.

They are led by senior Bailey Wilson (West Des Moines) who has 179 kills and 3.51 kills per set and junior Jamie Farley (Cedar Falls) who has 249 digs and almost five digs per set.

Edgewood

The Eagles are on a two-game winning streak coming into the weekend.

They are led by junior Jordan Winkler (Menomonee Wis.) and freshman Savannah Koester (Monroe, Wis.) who each have over 100 kills and average over two kills per set.

Dominican

The Stars are coming off a sweep against Rockford University and have won five of their past six matches.

They are led by junior Caitlen Foote (Dexter, Mich.) and sophomore Carri Chambers (Winnebago, Ill.) who each average over two and a half kills per set.

Benedictine

The Eagles ended their two-game losing streak with a sweep against Wisconsin Lutheran College

They are led by junior Beckie Whitmarsh (Mt. Carroll, Ill.) who has 102 kills and senior Andraia Leja (Cary, Ill.) who has 143 digs.

Lakeland

The Muskies were on a six-game win streak while sweeping four teams but lost in their last match against Edgewood College (3-1).

They are led by freshman Allison Erthum (Joliet, Ill.) who has 135 kills and junior Caleigh Galvan (New Lenox, Ill.) who has 176 digs.
