INDIANOLA, Iowa-- The Wartburg women's soccer team opened the Iowa Conference portion of its season in shoutout fashion as it defeated Simpson 2-0 Saturday afternoon.

Junior Hannah Turner (West Des Moines) gave the Knights the early 1-0 lead as she scored on a header off of classmates Brittany Frush's (La Porte City) corner kick at 16:15.

Junior Kerri Golinghorst (Dixon) doubled the lead at 44:55 as she scored off of senior Brinkly Werkman's (Marion) corner kick.

The Orange and Black return to the field tomorrow when they host Carleton at 3 p.m.
