PELLA, Iowa-- Iowa Conference opponent, Central (14-6 overall, 2-1 IIAC) swept Wartburg (16-3, 2-1) 25-22, 25-22 and 25-16 Tuesday night.

Senior Bailey Wilson (West Des Moines) had a team-best 12 kills on the night while sophomore Claire Willenbring (Dyersville) joined her in double digits with 10. Willenbring also led the team at the service line with two aces.

Junior Emma Harmeyer (West Des Moines) had a double-double with 22 assists and career-high 12 digs.

This marked the first lost to a conference team since the 3-2 loss to Coe in 2011 and this was the first sweep for the Knights against an IIAC team since 2008 when Buena Vista, Loras and Simpson swept that that season.

This also halted the six-match winning streak for the Orange and Black.

Wartburg returns to action Saturday when it hosts St. Olaf and Augsburg.
