WAVERLY, Iowa-- Freshman Nate Woeste (Atkins) and sophomore Jordan Cannon (Bolingbrook, Ill.) tallied 14 and 10 points, respectively, in the 67-59 loss to Central Wednesday.



The Knights opened the game on a 16-7 run over the first 11 minutes of the game. The Dutch answered with a 11-2 run over the next three minutes to knot the game at 1 all with 6:05 left in the half. The score was tied two more times over the next three minutes until Central took the 31-22 lead into halftime on a 9-0 run over the last four minutes of the first half.

Woeste scored 11 of his total points in the second half as he helped Wartburg outscore the Dutch, 37-36.

The Knights sliced the margin to two points (39-37) with 12:35 to go, but Central answered again with a 10-2 run over the next four minutes to build the lead to ten and did not relinquish this lead for the rest of the game.

The Orange and Black return to the court Saturday when they host Simpson at 4 p.m.
