Box ScoreWAVERLY, Iowa-- Senior Clay Cook (West Branch) recorded his fifth double-double of the season with 21 points and 11 rebounds in Wartburg's (10-7 overall, 3-3 IIAC) 82-76 loss to Buena Vista (12-5, 5-1) Saturday. Eight of his total rebounds were on the offensive glass.
Two fellow Knights, sophomores Jordan Cannon (Bolingbrook, Ill.) and Nate Webber (Peosta) joined him in double digits with 18 and 10 points, respectively.
The Orange and Black took the slim lead, 31-30, in the locker room at halftime. The lead changed hands seven times in the first six minutes of the second half until BV compiled a 13-0 run over the next five minutes to take the lead for good at 57-44.
Wartburg battled back and sliced the margin to four on a trey by freshman Nate Woeste (Atkins) with :49 to go. The Knights then fouled and Buena Vista made its free throws to solidify the win.
The Orange and Black return to the court Wednesday when they travel to Dubuque to play Loras at 8 p.m.
