No. 6 Wartburg Hosts Central for Homecoming

WAVERLY, Iowa-- Sixth-ranked Wartburg (3-0 overall) hosts Central (2-1) Saturday at 1:30 p.m. to open the Iowa Conference portion of its schedule.

The Series
Central leads the all-time series 37-22, but the Knights have won the last two meetings. The two programs have won or shared a combined 14 conference titles since 1998.

Wartburg
Senior Brandon Domeyer (Manchester) is the team's leading rusher with 290 yards and seven touchdowns. Classmate Logan Schrader (Kildeer, Ill.) has thrown for 748 yards and four touchdowns.

Schrader's top target has been Homecoming King candidate Robbie Anstoetter (Farley), who has 20 receptions for 395 yards and two touchdowns. Fellow senior Avery Mason (Altoona) also is a Homecoming King candidate.

Classmate Will Janssen (Mediapolis) leads the defense with 30 total tackles (18 solo and 12 assists) and also has two sacks for a loss of 29 yards. Junior Rob Rottler (Greene) and senior Gunner Tranel (Cedar Rapids) follow closely with 29 and 28 total tackles, respectively.

Seniors Germaine Dorsey (Hillside, Ill.) and James Garlock (Johnston) each have two interceptions.

Career Record Watch
Schrader needs three touchdown passes to be the program's all-time career leader in this category. He also is second in passing yards (7,183) and third in pass completions (512).

Domeyer has moved into eighth on the all-time rushing leaders list with 2,773 yards and is tied for third with 41 rushing touchdowns. His 42 career TDs ranks fourth-best in program history.

Senior Logan Pitz (Farley) moved into third on the leader list in pass breakups with 30.

Classmate Michael Bohlke (Manchester) moved into third in PATs made (115) and continues to extend his margin as the career leader in field goals made (23). Senior Grant Zimmerman (Mendota, Ill.) is seventh with 5,750 punt yards to date.

Central
Cory Archer leads the Dutch on the ground with 119 yards and two TDs. Riley Gray has thrown for 557 yards for four touchdowns while Sam Markham leads the receivers with 21 receptions for 269 yards and two touchdowns. Drew Carlson and Jessie Peterson lead the team with 27 tackles as each has 14 solo and 13 assists.

Wartburg ranks in the top 100 of 26 national statistical categories. The Knights rank first in winning percentage (1.000), 12th in fewest penalty yards per game (31.00), 15th in fewest penalty yards (93), 21st in fumbles lost (1), 24th in 4th down conversion percentage defense (.750), 26th in fewest penalties per game (4.33), 28th in fewest penalties (13), 43rd in passes intercepted (5), 46th in passing yards per completion (14.58) and 46th in red zone offense (.875).

The Orange and Black also rank 51st in team passing efficiency defense (105.97), 61st in time of possession (31:48), 61st in third down conversion percentage (.442), 62nd in blocked kicks (1), 71st in turnover margin (.67), 71st in passing yards allowed (181.3), 73rd in passing offense (252.7), 73rd in scoring offense (33.3), 74th in turnovers gained (7), 75th in turnovers lost (5), 77th in total offense (429.0), 83rd in punt return defense (5.25), 88th in red zone defense (.714), 88th in rushing offense (176.3), 98th in team passing efficiency (134.30) and 100th in net punting (33.18).

Individually, 11 Knights rank in the top 100 of 26 statistical categories. Anstoetter ranks 12th in receiving yards per game (131.7), 19th in receiving yards (395), 53rd in receptions per game (6.7), 85th in yards per reception (19.75) and 95th in all-purpose yards (131.67).

Schrader ranks 36th in passing yards per completion (14.67), 50th in yards per pass attempt (8.40), 51st in total offense (281.3), 54th in passing yards per game (249.3), 68th in passing yards (748), 81st in completions per game (17.00) and 87th in passing efficiency (133.7).

Domeyer ranks 8th in scoring (14.0), 8th in rushing touchdowns (7), 71st in rushing yards per game (96.7), 79th in points responsible for per game (14.0), 88th in rushing yards (290) and 100th in points responsible for (42). Dorsey ranks 37th in interceptions (.7) and 90th in passes defended (1.3). Senior James Garlock (Johnston) also ranks 37th in interceptions (.7). Pitz also ranks 90th in passes defended (1.3).

Janssen ranks 58th in solo tackles (6.0), 70th in total tackles (10.0) and 76th in forced fumbles (.33).  Bohlke ranks 86th in field goal percentage (.333). Seniors Nick Clasen (Maquoketa) and Cole Hinders (Dysart) both rank 42nd in fumbles recovered (1).

Sophomore Riley Brockway (Postville) ranks 65th in combined kick returns (222).
