DECORAH, Iowa-- The Wartburg volleyball team increased its winning streak to 14 with its 3-2 win over Luther Tuesday. The Knights are now 23-3 overall and 5-1 in Iowa Conference games while the Norse are now 18-9, 4-2.
WARTBURG at LUTHER HIGHLIGHTSThe Norse won the first and third sets, 25-21, 25-11 and the Orange and Black took the second, fourth and fifth sets, 25-12, 25-13 and 15-7.
Senior Krystal Graves (Cedar Falls) had a team-best 18 kills and a .457 hitting percentage. Classmate Emma Harmeyer (West Des Moines) had 24 assists and sophomore Maria Brown (Peosta) had 18 as they co-ran the offense. Senior Jamie Farley (Cedar Falls) had 25 digs and Brown finished with a double-double as she had 12 digs.
As a team, Wartburg held the advantage in kills, 58-48, hitting percentage (.253 vs. .200), service aces (3-2), digs (81-79) and team blocks (9-4).
The Knights return to action Friday at UW-Whitewater's tournament.
