Big First Half Propels No. 22 Wartburg Past Luther

DECORAH, Iowa-- The No. 22 Wartburg football team (6-1 overall, 3-1 IIAC) scored 40 points in the first half to help propel it to a 47-7 win over Luther (3-4, 1-3) Saturday.

Senior Logan Schrader (Kildeer, Ill.) is now tied for the all-time career leader in pass completions with 596. This ties the mark set by Nick Yordi (2007-09). Schrader threw for 257 yards and four touchdowns, just one shy of the single game school record. Sophomore Riley Brockway (Postville) had a team-best five receptions for 34 yards while senior Robbie Anstoetter (Farley) had four catches for a team-high 83 yards.

Senior Zach Hiller (Waseca, Minn.) caught and threw a TD pass on the day. This was his first career TD pass.

Classmate Brandon Domeyer (Manchester) led the team on the ground with 59 yards and one touchdown.

As a team, the Knights held the Norse to 190 total yards of offense (110 rushing and 80 through the air) as the hosts averaged 338.7 yards/game, which ranked sixth in all of Division III.

Junior Brandon Schott (Coggon) led the defense with a career-high 15 total tackles (five solo and 10 assists).

The Orange and Black return to the field next Saturday when they host Buena Vista at 1 p.m.
