No. 21 Wartburg Hosts Buena Vista

WAVERLY, Iowa-- No. 21 Wartburg (6-1 overall, 3-1 IIAC) hosts Buena Vista (1-6, 0-4) Saturday at 1 p.m. The Beavers enter today on a four-game losing skid.

The Series
Wartburg holds the all-time series lead at 35-22-1 and has claimed the last four meetings.

Career Record Watch
Senior Logan Schrader (Killdeer, Ill.) is tied for first in career pass completions (596). He became the program's all-time leader in touchdown passes against Dubuque and in passing yards against Coe.

Senior Brandon Domeyer (Manchester) has moved into sixth on the all-time rushing leaders list with 3,055 yards and is second with 45 rushing touchdowns. His 47 career touchdowns now ranks third in program history.

Senior Logan Pitz (Farley) is second in pass breakups with 32. He needs four more to set a new school record and three to tie it.

Classmate Michael Bohlke (Manchester) moved into second in extra points made (127) and continues to extend his margin as the career leader in field goals made (24). Senior Grant Zimmerman (Mendota, Ill.) is fourth with 6,482 punt yards.

Wartburg
Domeyer leads the team on the ground with 513 yards on 104 carries and 10 touchdowns. Junior Jake Haberman (Clarion) is second with 287 yards and one touchdown while Schrader has 145 yards on 61 carries and five touchdowns.

Schrader has thrown for 1,469 yards and seven touchdowns. His top receiver has been classmate Robbie Anstoetter (Farley) who has 39 receptions for 654 yards and three touchdowns. Four other receivers have triple digit reception yards — senior Mitch Rahm (Wesley) has 260, sophomore Riley Brockway (Postville) has 208, senior Jordan Schmitt (West Union) has 162, and senior Mitch Frerichs (New Hampton) has 109.

Senior Will Janssen (Mediapolis) leads the defense with 59 tackles while classmate Gunner Tranel (Vinton) is close behind with 57. Tranel has a team-best 7.0 tackles for a loss of 25 yards.

Wartburg ranks in the top 100 of 30 statistical categories, which the NCAA released Tuesday. The Knights rank third in fewest penalty yards per game (30.00), sixth in fewest penalty yards (210), seventh in fewest penalties per game (3.86), ninth in fumbles lost (2), tenth in fewest penalties (27), 21st in winning percentage (.857), 28th in completion percentage (.651), 32nd in 4th down conversion percentage defense (.333), 36th in blocked punts (1), 37th in turnovers lost (9), 42nd in turnover margin (.86), 49th in team passing efficiency (146.41), 58th in passing offense (253.7) and 59th in first downs offense (155). The Orange and Black also rank 60th in 4th down conversion percentage (.556), 62nd in passing yards allowed (188.7), 65th in net punting (33.87), 68th in total defense (341.4), 69th in fumbles recovered (7), 72nd in turnovers gained (15), 72nd in total offense (423.1), 76th in punt return defense (6.00), 77th in scoring defense (21.9), 82nd in tackles for loss allowed (5.57), 82nd in first downs defense (128), 84th in scoring offense (30.3), 84th in blocked kicks (2), 88th in time for possession (30:59), 94th in passes intercepted (8) and 98th in 3rd down conversion percentage (.389).

Individually, seven Knights rank in the top 100 of 21 statistical categories.

Domeyer ranks 20th in rushing touchdowns (11), 23rd in scoring (10.3) and 95th in rushing yards (572).

Anstoetter ranks 23rd in receiving yards (737), 26th in receiving yards per game (105.3), 52nd in receptions per game (6.1) and yards per reception (17.14).
Senior Logan Schrader (Killdeer, Ill.) ranks 27th in completion percentage (.655), 32nd in yards per pass attempt (8.38), 42nd in passing yards (1,726), 45th in passing yards per game (246.6), 45th in total offense (271.1), 47th in completions per game (19.29), 47th in passing efficiency (146.7), 69th in points responsible for (13.7), 74th in points responsible for per game (13.7), 83rd in passing touchdowns (11) and 84th in passing yards per completion (12.79).

Zimmerman ranks 32nd in punting (39.2). Pitz and James Garlock (Johnston) both rank 62nd in interceptions per game (.4). Tranel ranks 86th in total tackles (9.4).

Buena Vista
Cody Mowery leads the team with 726 rushing yards on 145 carries and four touchdowns. Tory Beger matches his TD total on 50 carries for 114 yards.

Beger, the signal caller, has thrown for 1,267 yards and eight TDs. Jalen Henningsen leads all receivers with 808 yards on 48 receptions for five touchdowns.

Brady Illg leads the defense with 71 total tackles and 6.5 tackles for a loss of 18 yards.
