Knights Score Triple Digits for Second Consecutive Time

WAVERLY, Iowa-- Wartburg moved to 2-0 on the young season with its 103-46 win over Emmaus (2-6) Friday in the opening round of the Buzz Levick Tournament. This marked the first time since 1979 that the Knights scored triple digits in consecutive games:

Three players finished in double digits as the Orange and Black were led by 17 from sophomore Nate Woeste (Atkins). Junior Nick Webber (Peosta) had 12 and sophomore Ty Putchio (Dubuque) had 10. Webber recorded four steals, just one shy of the single-game record which he owns.

Freshman Jaran Sabus (Urbandale) had a team-high seven rebounds and senior Marc Ellis (Des Moines) followed closely with six.

Wartburg led 52-23 and halftime and outscored the Eagles in the second frame as well, 51-23. The Knights finished 68.9% from the field and 55.6% from three-point range.
