WAVERLY, Iowa-- Wartburg advanced to the Iowa Conference Tournament Championship Match with its 3-0 (25-18, 28-26, 25-21) sweep over Coe Thursday.
WARTBURG vs. COE: IIAC SEMIFINALS HIGHLIGHTSJunior Claire Willenbring (Dyersville) had 18 kills, just one shy of her career high, as she finished with a .438 hitting percentage. Senior Krystal Graves (Cedar Falls) was just shy of double digits as she had nine kills while classmate Kaity Brouwer (Dike) and sophomore Maddie Miller (Johnston) each had eight.
In the second set, the Knights rallied from being down 20-15 and 24-21. The set was tied at 24 all, 25 all and 26 and won the set on a kill from Willenbring, a service ace and a Kohawk attack error.
As a team, Wartburg held the advantages in kills (52-35), hitting percentage (.282 vs. .153), assists (49-34), digs (67-51), and blocks (4-1).
