Box ScorePELLA, Iowa-- The Wartburg men's basketball team (13-12 overall, 6-8 IIAC) fell 68-56 to Central (15-10, 8-6) Saturday.
Sophomores Jordan Cannon (Bolingbrook, Ill.) and Nick Webber (Peosta) led the team with 16 and 14 points, respectively. Cannon also had his second double-double of the year as he added 10 rebounds.
The Dutch were ahead 32-23 at halftime and did not relinquish their lead in the second frame. The Knights whittled the margin to two at 36-34 with 14:03 to play, but Central compiled a 9-1 run over the next five minutes to build its margin.
Defensively, Wartburg held the Dutch to 0-9 from three-point land in the second half.
The Knights will be the No. 5 seed for the Iowa Conference Tournament and will return to Pella Tuesday for a 7 p.m. game.
