WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg volleyball team moved to 9-2 on the season as it fell 3-1 to Saint Benedict but defeated UW-Platteville 3-1 Saturday at its own Knights Classic.
WARTBURG vs. SAINT BENEDICT HIGHLIGHTSAgainst the Blazers, three Knights recorded double-digit kills and were led by 13 from senior Libby Creery (West Union). Classmate Krystal Graves (Cedar Falls) followed with 11 and senior Kalyn Ertz (Mediapolis) had 10.
Senior Emma Harmeyer (West Des Moines) had 29 set assists while sophomore Maria Brown (Peosta) had 15.
Senior libero Jamie Farley (Cedar Falls) had a team-high 24 digs while freshman Kathryn Nasby (Jackson, Minn.) had 11.
WARTBURG vs. SAINT BENEDICT FULL GAMEAgainst the Pioneers, Graves led the team with 13 kills and senior Kaity Brouwer (Dike) had 12. Brouwer hit an impressive .550 and Graves was at .423. Harmeyer tallied 27 assists and had a double-double with 11 digs.
WARTBURG vs. UW-PLATTEVILLE HIGHLIGHTSAs a team, the Orange and Black held the advantages in kills (51-42), hitting percentage (.297 vs. .102), assists (48-40), service aces (8-4) and blocks (10-4).
