Volleyball Travels to Face Loras, Compete in IIAC-NACC Challenge

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg volleyball team (9-2 overall, 1-0 IIAC) travels to face Loras (5-8) Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and will compete in the IIAC-NACC conference challenge this weekend. The Knights will face Edgewood (8-4) and Dominican (8-4) Friday and Concordia (8-3) and Aurora (7-6) Saturday.

The Series
Wartburg holds the all-time series lead at 41-14 and have claimed the last six-straight meetings. The Knights own the lead at 4-0 against Edgewood, 3-0 against Dominican and 1-0 against Concordia.

Wartburg
Senior Krystal Graves (Cedar Falls) and junior Claire Willenbring (Dyersville) lead the team with 112 and 108 kills, respectively. Senior Emma Harmeyer (West Des Moines) has 330 set assists already and classmate Jamie Farley (Cedar Falls) has a team-best 190 digs. Farley has a team-best 11 service aces and Willenbring follows closely with 10.

Loras
Three Duhawks are in triple digit kills as Claire Ritchie has 116, Liz Jendra has 106 and Therese Schultz has 102. Ritchie and Jenna Erickson have 267 and 246 set assists, respectively and Ali Clark has 15 service aces.

Edgewood
The Eagles enter the weekend on a six-match winning streak, including a sweep over No. 16 UW-Whitewater. Savannah Koester leads the squad with 92 kills while Haley Schwenn and Alex Zapuchlak have 208 and 172 set assists to date, respectively. Koester also has a team-best 20 service aces.

Dominican
The Stars enter the tournament on a three-match losing skid, but will play three matches before meeting Wartburg. Three players have triple digit kills: Carri Chambers has 10, Alex Kisten has 121 and Kendyl Todd has 104. Christina Wilson has 484 set assists and Olivia Szuszkiewicz has 20 service aces.

Concordia
The Falcons will also play three matches before facing the Knights and enter the tournament on a seven-match winning streak, which includes a 3-2 win over No. 21 UW-Oshkosh.

Kaily Moegenburg has a team-best 106 kills, Karina Klotz has 229 set assists and Haley Sedo leads the team from the service line with 15 aces.

Aurora
Peyton McKenzie and Lauren Marsh lead the squad with 172 and 102 kills, respectively. Destiny Stuersel has 209 set assists and McKenzie has 31 service aces.
