Volleyball Hosts Central To Open Four-Match Homestand

WAVERLY, Iowa-- Wartburg (13-3 overall, 1-1 IIAC) hosts Central (10-6, 1-1) Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The Knights enter on a four-match winning streak after going 4-0 in the IIAC-NACC conference challenge over the weekend, while the Dutch look to halt a two-match losing skid. The Orange and Black will host Coe next Tuesday and a quadrangular Saturday, Oct. 10.

The Series
Central leads the all-time series 51-16, but Wartburg has claimed five of the last seven meetings.

Wartburg
Junior Claire Willenbring (Dyersville) and seniors Krystal Graves (Cedar Falls) and Kaity Brouwer (Dike) lead the team in kills with 160, 154, and 104, respectively. Senior Emma Harmeyer (West Des Moines) has 426 set assists running the team's offense, while Willenbring and senior Jamie Farley lead the team from the service line with 15 aces. Harmeyer and sophomore Maria Brown (Peosta) follow closely with 13 aces each. Farley has a team-best 308 digs.

Co-head coach Jennifer Walker earned her 400th career win on Friday, Sept. 18, in the 3-0 sweep over St. Olaf and recorded her 400th win at Wartburg in the 3-0 sweep over Dominican (Ill.) on Friday, Sept. 25.

Central
Nicole Ewoldt and Emily McDonald have tallied triple-digit kills with 105 and 104, respectively. Madison Egger has 286 set assists and a team-best 27 service aces. McDonald has 26 aces and Ewoldt has 25 aces. Tara Tralewski leads the Dutch with 255 digs.
