WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 6 Wartburg football team (1-0 overall) moved its record to 9-0 in night home openers in the Walston-Hoover Stadium era (since 2001) with its 35-27 win over Augsburg (0-1) Saturday night.

One of the key points of the game occured when senior Nick Clasen (Maquoketa) recovered a fumble on Augsburg's 20-yard line with 2:34 remaining in the third quarter when the score was 27-21 in favor of the Auggies. The Knights capitalized on that turnover as they needed two plays to cover the 20-yards to regain the lead at 28-27 with 1:33 to play in the frame as sophomore Riley Brockway (Postville) caught an 18-yard pass from senior Logan Schrader (Kildeer, Ill.).

The Orange and Black added to their lead in the fourth quarter when senior Brandon Domeyer (Manchester) scored his third touchdown of the day on a one-yard run. He has now moved into fifth on the program's rushing touchdown leader list and also tied his career high with his three TDs.

 Schrader was 18-28 with two touchdown passes and 234 yards. He remains in the fourth spot on the career leader list in touchdown passes.

Senior Robbie Anstoetter (Farley) led the receivers with five receptions for 74 yards while classmate Gunner Tranel (Cedar Rapids) led the defense with nine total tackles (one solo and eight assists).
