CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa-- Despite scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter, it was not quite enough in Wartburg's (2-2 overall, 2-1 IIAC) narrow 37-34 loss to Coe (5-0, 3-0) Saturday.

The Knights took the lead at 34-30 with 2:41 to play as sophomore Matt Sacia (Eldridge) executed a quarterback sneak from one-yard out. The Kohawks answered with a four-play, 75-yard drive in 1:06 to regain the lead at 37-34 with 1:35 left.

This gave the Orange and Black the ball once more, but an interception sealed the win for Coe.



Sacia finished with 379 yards and three touchdowns through the air and added 36 yards and one score on his feet. His passing yards and TDs marked new career-bests. Junior Riley Brockway (Postville) led the receivers with 113 yards while senior Jake Habermann finished just shy of the century mark with 97 yards rushing.

Sophomore kicker Brayton Brandt (Central Point) made both of his field goals, which included a career-best kick of 32-yards.

Junior Tony Anstoetter (Farley) led the defense with 13 total tackles, including eight solos.

Wartburg returns to the field Saturday when it hosts Loras at 1 p.m.
