LINCOLN, Neb.-- The Wartburg volleyball team (13-4 overall, 3-0 IIAC) moved its winning streak to nine with its 3-0 sweep over Nebraska Wesleyan (9-7, 2-2) Saturday.
Senior Claire Willenbring (Dyersville) led the team with 13 kills and junior Aryn Jones (Marion) narrowly missed double digits with nine. Sophomore Mallary Erbes (Urbandale) recorded a career-best 31 set assists and junior Maria Brown (Peosta) had 11 as they ran the offense.
In the first set, the Knights used a six-point run to take the 23-19 lead which included two service aces by Willenbring. The Orange and Black compiled a five-point run to claim the second set and another five-point run in the third to build their lead to 21-16.
Wartburg returns to action Wednesday when they host Luther at 7 p.m.
