The Series
Central leads the all-time series 37-23, but the Knights have won the last three meetings. The two programs have won or shared a combined 14 conference titles since 1998.
Wartburg
Junior Connor Schrader (Lake Zurich, Ill.) is the team's leading rusher with 426 yards and five TDs on 74 carries. Senior Jake Haberman (Clarion) has 267 yards and freshman Dylan Binion (Erie, Ill.) has 245 on 31 carries for two scores.
Sophomore quarterback Matt Sacia (Eldridge) has thrown for 1,500 yards and 13 TDs. Juniors Griffin Brennecke (Marion) and Riley Brockway (Postville) each have four touchdowns as they have 459 and 484 reception yards, respectively.
Junior Tony Anstoetter (Farley) leads the defense with 43 tackles while senior Brendan Schott (Coggon) follows with 40. Senior Dalton Ciavarelli (Clarksville) has a team-best 8.5 tackles for loss.
Central
Nathan Fitzgerald leads the team on the ground with 474 yards for two scores while Riley Gray has a team-best five rushing TDs.
Gray, the signalcaller, has thrown for 1,690 yards and 17 TDs. His top target has been Sam Markham with 806 yards on 71 catches for eight scores.
Sam Norgaard leads the defense with 62 tackles.
