WAVERLY, Iowa—Wartburg (16-5 overall, 5-1 IIAC) defeated Central (12-12, 4-3) 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-20).
The Knights were led by junior Aryn Jones (Marion) with 13 kills and a team-high .440 hitting percentage. Senior Claire Willenbring (Dyersville) had 11 kills and a .417 hitting percentage.
Co-running the Orange and Black's offense were sophomore Mallary Erbes (Urbandale) with 21 assists and junior Maria Brown (Peosta) with 13.
The defensive effort for Wartburg was led by sophomore Kathryn Nasby (Jackson, Minn) with 15 digs. Erbes had 13.
Three Knights each tallied two service aces in Erbes, Willenbring and Brown.
For Central, Kylie Gerstein had a team-high 10 kills.
The Dutch offense was ran by Chapel Carter and Regan Nelson with 15 and 14 assists, respectively.
Nicole Ewoldt had 15 digs and Gerstein had 14.
Wartburg held the team advantages in kills (40-34), hitting percentage (.205-.133), assists (37-32), service aces (7-2), digs (62-56) and solo blocks (6-4).
Central had the advantages in block assists (6-0) and total team blocks (7-6).
