Knights Host Kohawks in First Round of IIAC Tournament

WAVERLY, Iowa -- The Wartburg women's soccer team (10-4-2 overall, 5-2-1 IIAC) hosts Coe (11-7-1, 4-4) on Saturday at 2 p.m. for the first round of the Iowa Conference Tournament.

Win and Advance
The Knights enter as the fourth seed and the Kohawks are the fifth seed. Wartburg captured a 1-0 victory when the teams met during the regular season. The winner of the match will face top-seeded Loras in Dubuque on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 5 p.m.
 
Wartburg
Wartburg was the IIAC season and tournament champion in 2015. Junior Alyssa Hewitt (Clive) leads the Wartburg offense, recording six goals and four assists. Sophomore Alyssa Drewelow (Cedar Rapids) and junior Morgan Neuendorf (Shell Rock) both have added five goals and two assists. Junior goalie Beth Crow (North Liberty) has 10 shutouts in the net for the Knights.

Coe
The Kohawks enter Saturday's match on a two-game win streak. Kelsey Fauser is the team's top scorer with eight goals. Morgan Petsche and Gabby Lancial follow with four goals scored each. Ashlyn Moos has a team-high five assists.
 
National Stat Rankings
The Wartburg women's soccer team ranks in the top 100 of four statistical categories, which the NCAA released Monday. The Knights rank 16th in save percentage (.904), 25th in shutout percentage (.667), 45th in goals against average (.581) and 70th in won-lost-tied Percentage (.733).
 
Individually, one Knight ranks in the top 100 of three statistical categories. Crow ranks 21st in save percentage (.902) and 49th in goals against average (.581) and ranks 97th in goalie minutes played (1394:17).
