Big Fourth-Down Stop Seals Knights Win over Duhawks

WAVERLY, Iowa-- Loras chose to go for it on fourth-and-11 on Wartburg's 19-yard line with 1:41 to play but senior Ben Beckman (West Burlington) tackled the ball carrier to end the late threat by the Duhawks to seal the win for the Knights.

With the victory, the Orange and Black are now 3-2 overall and 2-1 IIAC while Loras falls to 0-6, 0-4. Wartburg has also won its last 15 straight home games, which dates back to the 2013 season.

Freshman Dylan Binion (Albany, Ill.) recorded his second 100-yard game of his career as he led the team on the ground with 100 yards and one score. He also caught three passes for 93 yards and another TD.
 
Sophomore quarterback Matt Sacia (Eldridge) finished 18-31 for 257 yards and three TDs. Binion was his top receiver and junior Griffin Brennecke (Marion) followed with 61 yards and a score.

Sophomore Payton Imhoff (Dubuque) and junior Tony Anstoetter (Farley) led the defense with 11 total tackles each. Senior Dalton Ciavarelli (Clarksville) had a team-high 2.0 tackles for a loss of 12 yards and forced two fumbles.

The Knights return to the gridiron next Saturday when they host Simpson in the annual Homecoming game at 1:30 p.m.
