WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg volleyball team (14-5 overall) avenged its loss to Bethel in St. Paul on Sept. 3 in the 3-1 win over the Royals (13-7) Saturday.



Five Knights tallied double-digit kills and were led by 14 from junior Aryn Jones (Marion). Sophomore Lizzy Blough (Dike) followed with 13 while senior Claire Willenbring (Dyersville), sophomore Mallary Erbes (Urbandale) and freshman Abby Staebell (Hudson) all had 11 in the match.

Junior Maria Brown (Peosta) had 31 set assists and Erbes had 26 as they co-ran the offense. Blough and sophomore Kathryn Nasby (Jackson, Minn.) co-led the team with 18 digs. Nasby had a team-best three service aces.

The Orange and Black held the team advantages in kills (66-52), hitting percentage (.320-.175), assists (64-49), digs (74-58) and blocks (11-9).

Wartburg returns to the court Tuesday when they host Loras at 7:30 p.m.
