In the first round of play, the No. 3 Knights defeated No. 6 Coe in a 4-3 shootout and the top-seeded Duhawks defeated No. 6 Nebraska Wesleyan 1-0 in double overtime. The winner of Wednesday's game will advance to the IIAC Championships on Saturday.
Wartburg
The Knights went into double overtime with the Duhawks during their 2016 meeting, resulting in a 0-0 draw. On offense, junior Alyssa Hewitt (Clive), sophomore Alyssa Drewelow (Cedar Rapids) and junior Morgan Neuendorf (Shell Rock) have led the way for Knights. Hewitt has scored a team-high six goals and Drewelow and Neuendorf have added five goals each. In the net, goalie Beth Crow (North Liberty) enters Wednesday's match with 11 shutouts.
Loras
Gretchen Schutz leads the Duhawks in scoring with seven goals and Elizabeth Mills follows with six goals. Maura Walsh has a team-high six assists. Keeper Maria Siebels has recorded nine shutouts in the net.
