Football Moves Winning Season Streak to Twenty-Three

WAVERLY, Iowa-- Wartburg defeated Buena Vista 42-14 Saturday to earn its 23rd consecutive winning season. The Knights finished the year 6-4 overall and 5-3 in Iowa Conference play while BV ended 3-7, 3-5.

Fittingly on Senior Day, senior Jake Haberman (Clarion) put the Orange and Black on the board with his touchdown from one-yard out to give the home team the early 7-0 lead just three minutes into the game.

Junior Griffin Brennecke (Marion) scored the next two TDs for Wartburg on 14-yard and 39-yard receptions. Sophomore defensive back Peyton Imhoff's (Dubuque) pick six helped the Knights increase their margin to 28-0 at the end of the first half.
