Sabus Earns Double-Double in Loss to Storm

INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Wartburg men's basketball team (6-1 overall, 1-1 IIAC) fell to Simpson (5-2, 1-0) on Saturday 81-68. The loss snapped the six-game win streak the Knights had strung together since their season opener.



Wartburg led the Storm 30-28 at halftime, but that was largest lead the Orange and Black maintained for the remainder of the contest. Simpson came back in the second half to score 53 points and held Wartburg to 38. The Knights shot .393 from the field during the competition.

Sophomore Jaran Sabus (Urbandale) earned a double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing a team-high 12 rebounds. Sabus also recorded two steals. Junior Nate Woeste (Atkins) was the top-scorer for Wartburg on 19 points. Senior Jordan Cannon (Bolingbrook, Ill.) tallied 10 points.

The Knights continue Iowa Conference road play on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Coe.
