Knights Host No. 10 UW-Eau Claire

WAVERLY, Iowa -- The Wartburg College men's basketball team (7-1 overall, 2-1 IIAC) will host the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (7-0, 0-0 WIAC) on Sunday at 3 p.m.

The Series
UW-Eau Claire holds the series advantage, winning three of the last five matchups between the two teams. Last season Wartburg fell 73-58 in Eau Claire.

Wartburg
The Knights will look to stay undefeated at home, currently 4-0 in Levick Arena. The team also will try to stay undefeated against ranked opponents. Wartburg beat then-No. 21 University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in the Buzz Levick Tournament earlier this season. The top-scoring contributors for the team have been senior Jordan Cannon (Bolingbrook, Ill.), Jaran Sabus (Urbandale), and junior Nate Woeste (Atkins). Cannon averages 16.6 points per game, followed by Sabus (16.3) and Woeste (15.4). Senior Nick Webber (Peosta) has the most assists with 24. The top rebounder for the team is senior Clifton Brown (Mims, Fla.), who averages 6.0 per contest.

UW-Eau Claire
Previously ranked No. 21, UW-Eau Claire has jumped to No. 10 in the rankings. The Blugolds will enter the game after facing Buena Vista on Saturday. On average, UW-Eau Claire has held opponents to 64.0 total points. Offensive leaders for the Blugolds are Josh Weix, Chris Duff, and George Diekelman, all averaging double-digits in points per game. On defense, Weix has the highest rebound average with 6.4 grabs.
