WAVERLY, Iowa-- Wartburg (15-10 overall, 8-6 IIAC) defeated Luther (5-20, 4-10) 68-53 Saturday. Junior Jordan Cannon (Bollingbrook, Ill.) led all scorers with 13 points. Sophomore Nate Woeste (Atkins) followed with 11 points while junior Nick Webber (Peosta) and freshman Jaran Sabus (Urbandale) each finished with 10.

The Knights took a commanding 26-18 lead at halftime and continued to add to their margin as they led by as many as 17 points in the second frame.

The Orange and Black held the team advantages in all three shooting percentage categories and out-rebounded the Norse, 44-36.

With the win, Wartburg solidified the No. 2 seed in the Iowa Conference tournament and will host the winner of Buena Vista/Simpson Thursday at 7 p.m. in the semifinals.
