Juniors Jordan Cannon (Bollingbrook, Ill.) and Nick Webber (Peosta) each scored 18 on the night, sophomore Nate Woeste (Atkins) had 16, which included a perfect 9-9 at the free throw line, and freshman Jaran Sabus (Urbandale) tallied 14.
WARTBURG vs. CENTRAL IIAC FINALS HIGHLIGHTSThe Knights end the season 16-11 overall and the Dutch are 19-9 and receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Game location and opponent will be announced during the selection show Monday at noon.
Central took the 38-32 lead into halftime but the Orange and Black made it a three-point game on a trey by senior Marc Ellis (Des Moines) with 6:10 to play. The Dutch quickly built their lead to ten once more on a 7-0 run over the next minute and a half. Wartburg was able to whittle the margin to eight with 0:44 left but was unable to further capitalize.
