WAVERLY, Iowa—Wartburg went 2-0 on the second day of the Knights Classic by sweeping St. Olaf, 3-0 (25-11, 25-19, 25-17) and Saint Benedict (25-19, 30-28, 25-15).

The Knights were led by junior Aryn Jones (Marion) in the front row with 12 kills and a .357 hitting percentage.
While running the offense, sophomore Mallary Erbes (Urbandale) and junior Maria Brown (Peosta) would tally 10 and 16 assists, respectively.
The defensive effort of the Orange and Black came from sophomore Kathryn Nasby (Jackson, Minn.), Brown and sophomore Lizzy Blough (Dike) getting 16, 13 and 11 digs, respectively.
Brown was also a power from behind the service line with four aces.
For St. Olaf, Katie Payne and Lauren Rewers had seven kills each.
Running the Oles' offense was Renata Erickson with 22 assists.
Defensive specialist Abby Slack had 23 digs, while leading the St. Olaf defense.
Wartburg held the team advantages in kills (33-26), hitting percentage (.188--.008), assists (30-23), service aces (10-4), digs (63-62), solo blocks (4-0), block assists (8-4) and total team blocks (8-2).
Wartburg v. Saint Benedict
The Orange and Black jumped on an early five-point run that would lead the Knights to a 25-11 set one win.
During set two, Wartburg would finish out the set victoriously with two back-to-back kills from sophomore Lizzy Blough (Dike).
In the third set, the Knights would string together back-to-back kills from Jones, junior Maddie Miller (Johnston) and Erbes that led the Blazers to take a timeout. Wartburg and St. Benedict would battle back and forth the rest of the set, with Wartburg getting the win.
Miller had 14 kills against Saint Benedict, while Jones had 10.
Erbes and Brown tallied 18 and 20 assists, respectively.
From the service line, Jones also had three aces.
At the net, Jones had four solo blocks for a team-high.
For the Blazers, it was Megan Pekarek with nine and Liz Schultz and Briana Schmiesing with eight.
While running the offense for Saint Benedict, Pekarek had 26 assists.
Haley LaValle had a team-high 18 digs.
The Blazers were a force at the net stringing together 12 block assists against the Knights' offense.
Wartburg held the team advantages in kills (49-40), hitting percentage (.254-.133), assists (45-37), service aces (7-2), digs (75-61), solo blocks (7-1) and total team blocks (8-7).
The Blazers held the advantage in block assists (12-2).
