Football Wins Home Opener in Shutout Fashion

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg football team moved to 2-1 on the season with its 56-0 win over Finlandia (0-4) Saturday. This marked the fourth home opener shutout win in Walston-Hoover Stadium era (since 2001).

Freshman Dylan Binion (Albany) led the team on the ground with 121 yards and one touchdown. Kicker sophomore Brayton Brandt (Center Point) was a perfect 6-6 in point after attempts.

Juniors Sam Ambrose (Bettendorf) and Tony Anstoetter (Farley) and sophomore Peyton Imhoff (Dubuque) all led the team with four tackles each.

The Knights return to the field on the road at Coe next Saturday for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
