WAVERLY, Iowa – The Wartburg women's soccer team (5-2-1 overall, 1-0 IIAC) won 3-0 over Simpson (1-6-2, 0-1) on Saturday.
Junior Beth Crow (North Liberty) earned her 22
nd career shutout, tying Wartburg's program record.
In the first half, sophomore Katie Ives (Cedar Rapids) scored her first goal of the season in the first half off an assist from junior Alyssa Christopher (Reinbeck). Junior Alyssa Hewitt (Clive) scored an unassisted goal, her third of the season, in the second half. Junior Morgan Neuendorf (Shell Rock) put the Knights on the board again in the second with a header to the back of the net off a corner kick by Ives, marking her first goal of 2016.
