Nick Webber Earns 1,000th Point in Loss to Nebraska Wesleyan

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Wartburg College men's basketball team (12-6 overall, 4-5 IIAC) fell to Nebraska Wesleyan (11-5, 5-3) on Saturday 98-85.

With 11 lead changes during the first half, the ballgame was 43-43 all at halftime. The Prairie Wolves outscored the Knights 55-42 in the second half to take the win and split this year's regular season series 1-1.

Although the Knights were handed the loss, senior Nick Webber (Peosta) scored his 1,000th career point during the game. Webber becomes the 31st player in program history to score 1,000 points during their Wartburg career. He joins classmate Jordan Cannon (Bolingbrook, Ill.) who entered the club last year.

Webber and Cannon each had 23 points on the night. Junior Nate Woeste (Atkins) scored 12 points and sophomore Jaran Sabus (Urbandale) added 11. Woeste and Sabus both grabbed a team-high five rebounds.

Wartburg will head back to Levick Arena to take on Coe on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
