Wartburg Looks to Stay Undefeated at Home Against Loras

WAVERLY, Iowa -- The Wartburg College men's basketball team (10-2 overall, 2-1 IIAC) hosts Loras College (8-4, 1-2) on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

The Series
Wartburg holds the all-time series record, 42-27. Last season the teams split, with the Knights winning 73-70 at home, and the Duhawks winning 84-75 at home.

Wartburg
After going 2-1 on the road during the holiday break, the Knights return to Levick Arena, where they are 5-0 this season. Offensive leadership for Wartburg has been credited to senior Jordan Cannon (Bolingbrook, Ill.), sophomore Jaran Sabus (Urbandale), junior Nate Woeste (Atkins), and senior Nick Webber (Peosta), all averaging double digits in points per game. On defense, junior Clifton Brown (Mims, Fla.) tops the Knights in rebounds (5.7 average).

Loras
The Duhawks enter the competition on a five-game winning streak dating back to Dec. 10. Justin VanWambeke leads the team in scoring, averaging 22.1 points per game. Ryan DiCanio follows with 14.3 points per game. DiCanio averages the most rebounds for Loras with 8.4 grabs per contest.

The Knights rank 2nd in free throw attempts (364), 2nd in free throws made (265), 21st in scoring offense (88.8), 22nd in assist turnover ratio (1.41), 22nd in field-goal percentage (49.1), 25th in won-lost percentage (83.3), 26th in total assists (196), 29th in turnover margin (4.3), 36th in turnovers per game (11.6), 63rd in assists per game (16.3), 85th in free-throw percentage (72.8), 92nd in scoring margin (6.8), and 94th in total rebounds (442).

Individually, three Knights rank in the top 100 of five different categories. Sabus ranks 15th in free throws made (69), and 23rd in free throw attempts (85).

Woeste ranks 85th in free throws made (52). Cannon  ranks 33rd in total field goals made (85), 78th in total points (210), and 79th in total field goal attempts (157).
