WAVERLY, Iowa – The Wartburg College men's basketball team (13-7 overall, 5-6 IIAC) will begin its week of road games on Wednesday against Loras College (14-5, 7-3) at 8 p.m.

The Series
Loras came out on top 84-75 when the Knights hosted their first matchup this season, but Wartburg holds the 42-28 all-time series advantage.
Playoff Picture
Wartburg (5-6) currently sits in sixth place of Iowa Conference standings with Dubuque (5-6). The Orange and Black trail Buena Vista (9-2), Loras (7-3), Nebraska Wesleyan (7-4), Simpson (6-5) and Central (5-5). Coe (4-7) and Luther (0-10) round out the conference. Wartburg's remaining head to head matchups after Loras include Central and Dubuque on the road and Luther and Buena Vista at Levick Arena.
Wartburg
Wartburg is 5-3 on the road this season. The Knights will look to improve to .500 against IIAC competition on Wednesday. They have scored an average of 85.5 points per contest and their opponents average 81.7 points versus the Orange and Black.
Sophomore Jaran Sabus (Urbandale) enters the Loras game after scoring a career-high 27 points on Saturday, improving his points per game average to 13.9. Senior Jordan Cannon (Bolingbrook, Ill.) has spent this season climbing up the program record book. Cannon now sits in fifth in career three-pointers made (162) and sixth in career points (1,438).
Loras
The Duhawks are coming off a bye weekend and enter Wednesday's game on a one-game skid after Simpson handed them a 101-95 loss last Wednesday. The defeat came after Loras had strung together 11 consecutive wins that stretched from December 10 until January 25.
Justin VanWambeke (19.6 points per game) and Ryan DiCanio (15.6) lead the team's offense. Demond George (12.7), Josh Ruggles (12.6) and Christian Mathis (12.2) follow in points per game. DiCanio tops the team in rebounds, averaging eight per contest.
