WAVERLY, Iowa-Wartburg's women's soccer team (8-4-2 overall, 2-1-2 IIAC) defeated Buena Vista (2-11-1, 0-4-0), 6-0 Tuesday.

The Orange and Black jumped to an early lead as senior Morgan Neuendorf (Plainfield) netted her first goal of the night at 9:41.

Freshman Molly Close (Polk City) scored the Knights' second goal of the game at 28:45, with Neuendorf assisting. 

Wartburg would start the second half with a 2-0 lead over the Beavers. 

At 49:59, Neuendorf would score her second goal of the game and tenth on the season. Her goal was unassisted. 

Freshman Kate Motzko (Cedar Falls) found the net at 70:13, making the score 4-0 Knights. Motzko's goal was assisted by junior Alyssa Drewelow (Cedar Rapids). 

With a successful penalty kick, sophomore Gabby Rohrer (Watertown, Wis.), Wartburg led Buena Vista, 5-0 at 78:30.

Drewelow found the net at 85:38, with junior Emma Moss (North Liberty) assisting. 

Senior goalkeeper Beth Crow (North Liberty) tallied her 35th career shutout, which is a program-best. 

The Knights held advantages in shots (30-8) and corner kicks (10-2). 

Wartburg returns to action on Friday, Oct. 13 at 5 p.m. against Luther in Decorah.
