INDIANOLA, Iowa-Wartburg's women's soccer team (10-4-3 overall, 4-1-3 IIAC) ended their regular season with a 4-0 win over Simpson (4-13-0, 1-6-0). The Knights have qualified for the Iowa Conference tournament. Seeds will be determined early next week.
With the win, senior goalkeeper Beth Crow (North Liberty) became the program's all-time win leader with 42 career wins. The previous mark was set by Monica Noti (2009-12) at 41.
Crow also tallied another shutout, adding to her current program record of 37 shutouts.
Wartburg junior Jillian Huser (Waverly) scored the Knights' first goal off her own corner kick at 24:18.
Shortly after, at 29:11, senior Alyssa Christopher (Reinbeck) netted her own goal, with classmate Morgan Neuendorf (Plainfield) getting the assist.
The Orange and Black would take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
Neuendorf would score her season's 12th goal at 58:43, with senior Alyssa Hewitt (Clive) tallying the assist.
Junior Megan Cowherd (Bettendorf) scored Wartburg's fourth goal of the game at 62:50.
Wartburg had the advantages in shots (27-4) and corner kicks (8-2).
